DUBAI – His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, has issued a Resolution establishing the Dubai Civility Committee.

The move follows the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to make Dubai the world’s most beautiful and advanced city.

The Committee will operate in line with the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan, aiming to strengthen the emirate’s global image and preserve its architectural identity.

Committee leadership

The Committee will be chaired by Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi. The Vice Chairman will be the Chairman of the Supreme Committee of Urban Planning. Other members include the Secretary General of The Executive Council of Dubai, the Director General of the Crown Prince’s Office, the Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, the Director General of the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism, and the Director General of Dubai Municipality.

Urban aesthetics

The body is mandated to support Dubai’s efforts to enhance its aesthetic ambiance, address unsightly elements in the city’s landscape, and reinforce visual identity in line with approved planning guidelines. It will develop strategies to identify and mitigate urban challenges, approve action plans, and assign responsibilities across relevant authorities.

The Committee will review outcomes at each stage of implementation, monitor public satisfaction, and ensure performance indicators are met. Surveys and studies will be conducted to propose solutions for areas requiring improvement.

Advanced monitoring

The Committee will integrate advanced technologies, including artificial intelligence, to detect and address negative trends at an early stage. It will propose the necessary resources and budgets, form subcommittees and working groups, and design strategies to overcome challenges.

All government entities involved in shaping Dubai’s urban landscape are required to cooperate by sharing data, reports, and studies to support the Committee’s strategic goals and informed decision-making.
